Miraex quantum interconnects can form the basis for quantum repeater stations, which can carry quantum signals beyond the limit of ~100 km imposed by traditional fibers. This would allow the transmission of quantum states around the world, forming a quantum internet. Such a network would facilitate secure communication, for example through quantum key distribution, to protect personal communication or financial transactions. It could also be used to connect other quantum resources at a larger scale and increase computational power, sensing capabilities.
